[Host:] During the Crown Prince’s (Mohammed Bin Salman) visit to Pakistan, he expressed hopes of striking deals for cooperation between the two countries. According to media reports, these deals that MBS intends to ink are worth over $20 billion. Observers said that this visit is an attempt to break the isolation that Mohammed Bin Salman experienced after that he was explicitly accused by international parties of being implicated in the assassination of Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi.
[Host:] The Saudi crown prince, Mohammed Bin Salman, paid a visit to the Holy Mosque in Mecca, and took a walk on the roof of the Noble Ka’bah together with a number of his entourage, after that the courtyard and surrounding areas of the Ka’bah were cleared of Umrah pilgrims and prayer attendees. Saudi media reported that the crown prince’s visit to the Holy Mosque today was to oversee the expansion projects and the services offered to Umrah pilgrims. He performed circumabulation (Tawaf) of the Ka’bah and climbed on its rooftop.
[Dr. Saad Al-Faqih:] A lot of people have commented on Turkey’s statements about Khashoggi, but the beautiful thing about this, which I would like to add is that when Erdogan stated that the Crown Prince (of Saudi Arabia) and the Foreign Minister and the Saudi officials are all lying, and that they never told anything true at all, and that all their statements are lies, this is a provocation. True, it has not reached the level of incriminating Mohammed Bin Salman, but just this statement is a provocation towards MBS, and not a mild provocation. It’s a major provocation.
[Dr. Sa’ad Al-Faqih] Do you have any comments on Mohammed Bin Salman’s (MBS) visit to (prince) Muqrin?
[Answer] I believe that this came in response to (exiled prince) Khaled Al-Farhan. It’s very apparent that MBS is thin-skinned and hypersensitive, and he is easily irritated. If he hears a strong-worded criticism, he quickly gets irritated. Khaled Bin Farhan called on his uncles— his uncle (prince) Ahmed and his uncle (prince)— Khaled Bin Farhan Al-Saud that is (exiled) in Germany, he called on Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz and Muqrin to save the country from the dangers posed by MBS, it’s as if he’s trying to say, “Look, look how I was warmly received by Muqrin, and how he was very considerate towards me, etc,” and he made sure that was captured on camera and published as it was. I believe that this proves that he really is affected by what is written (about him) even if he does not show it.
I was informed by people close to those within his circles that he is extremely upset specifically by posts on Twitter. This is why he is very attentive to that, and he spends millions on those (PR) companies in order to suppress dissident views. Yes, he is affected, and since this comment came from an important personality from within the ruling family, i.e. Khaled Al-Farhan, he had to prove the contrary. Of course, Muqrin’s reception of him does not mean— it’s in front of cameras, so it’s out of courtesy.. First of all, Muqrin is weak, and I don’t think he would have responded to Khaled Bin Farhan’s call. Secondly, in private, Muqrin reviles and insults MBS, but since he’s almost the king, and he has power, and since the encounter was being filmed on camera, it was hard for him to display that publicly. Will he pay a visit to (prince) Ahmed? I don’t know. But I think it’s unlikely. He might visit him, and we could end up finding out that Ahmed is much weaker than we thought. But, it’s very unlikely that this will happen.
[Dr. Sa’ad Al-Faqih] A question that is in connection with last week’s, which is, what happened to Mohammed Bin Salman before he made his appearance in the media? Of course, there are those that are still questioning this, and that he didn’t make any appearance. I am confirming what I said previously, which is that he is alive, and he was and is running the country, etc, during the period of his disappearance (from the media). He was present, and he was managing the country’s affairs. He has not been absent from running the country, and he met up with personalities, and he was in contact with people and making decisions during the period of his absence from the media.
Did he really appear in the media, or not? Are these photoshopped images of him or not? Or, are these old video footage? Allah knows best. It seems that.. regardless, the man is alive and present, and he is personally running the country’s affairs and pursuing his activities, and he is responsible for all the decisions being made, including the decision regarding Nawaf Al-Rasheed. He is responsible for that, and he is the one that personally arranged with the Kuwaitis, with Sheikh Sabah, his extradition from Kuwait. Was he shot or not? We don’t have any information that disproves or confirms this. It could be that he was shot and has recovered, or at least he’s in a condition that allows him to make media appearances, or he did not get shot. Allah knows best.
But, the events that happened in Khuzama are true. There were shots, and heavy gunfire, and people were shot. Was he among those that were shot? We don’t know. If he was shot, it appears that he has recovered. Or, maybe he suffered minor injuries, or he was not injured. Allah knows best. This is regarding Mohammed Bin Salman. The point of the matter is that he is alive, and during all this time he was pursuing his activities.
